Sentinel Plus - Disaster Recovery

Sentinel Plus systems provide for a fast changeover to a hot standby database server and redundancy for all key and critical functions, maximising system uptime in the event of hardware failure.

In addition Sentinel Plus supports additional hot standby database servers at third party or separate disaster recovery sites to help keep your business going in the event of serious disruption.

In the event of a disaster, hot standby servers can quickly become the primary data server with all data up to date and telephone lines and other signalling can be diverted to a backup location in association with your telephony provider and other third parties. Alternatively you may set up your panels to automatically dial the disaster recovery site in the event the primary site is unavailable.

The diagram shows an example of a disaster recovery set up. Its key features are a site to site VPN, duplicated alarm receiving equipment, remote secondary database server, spare front-end signal processor and extra operator workstations.
